Oakwood baseball secures back-to-back wins

Oakwood’s baseball team finished the week by allowing just one run in back-to-back wins at home.
On Friday (April 15), the Comets handled Milford, 5-1. On Saturday (April 16), Oakwood used an 18-run second-inning to blitz Attica, Ind., 22-0.
Against Milford, Lucas Huchel pitched a two-hitter, walking three and striking out four.
Bryson Myers blasted two hits. Dalton Hobick homered and also stole two bases and scored two runs.
Against Attica, Hobick hurled a four-inning one-hitter, walking one batter and fanning seven. He also delivered at the plate, pounding three hits and driving in five runs.
Other key offensive contributors for the Comets were Matthew Miller with three doubles and four RBI, Josh Young with two hits and Travis Tiernan with two hits.
Grant Powell, Miller and Tiernan all scored three runs. Tiernan and Brody Taflinger both drove in two runs.
Oakwood (7-5) returns to action on Monday (April 18) at Hoopeston Area.
