SJO 3,200 relay wins Monticello Invitational

St. Joseph-Ogden’s 3,200-meter relay was victorious on Thursday (April 14) in the Monticello boys’ track and field invitational.
The foursome of Spencer Wilson, Charlie Mabry, Elijah Mock and Luke Stegall finished the eight-lap race in 8 minutes, 47.01 seconds.
The Spartans had three athletes place in two individual events.
Braden Clampitt was second in the 110-meter hurdles (18.32 seconds) and fourth in the 300-meter hurdles (45.73 seconds).
Brock Trimble was fifth in the triple jump (37 feet, 1 inch) and sixth in the discus (125 feet, 8 inches).
Jonathan Poulter ran fifth in the 200 meters (24.44 seconds) and ended seventh in the 100 meters (12.11 seconds).
Wilson was the runner-up in the 800 meters (2:06.85).
Two Spartans ran among the leaders in the 1,600 meters. Mabry was third (4;37.83) and Stegall was fifth (4:39.94).
The other SJ-O individual placers were Tyler Burch (third in the 100 meters, 11.76 seconds) and Jack Fisher (seventh in the 3,200 meters, 11:23.52).
Three other Spartan relays also fared well.
The same four runners teamed up for a second-place performance in the 800-meter relay and a fifth-place finish in the 400-meter relay. Sharing the baton were Poulter, Aidan McCorkle, Colin Wayland and Burch.
Their time in the 800 relay was 1:35.15. They were timed in 45.75 in the 400-meter relay.
Also snagging a second-place finish was the 1,600-meter relay unit of Burch, McCorkle, Wayland and Wilson. Their collective time was 3:39.64.
