Oakwood softball loses two

Bella Bradford, Gracie Enos, Olivia Fegett and Savannah Nevitt connected for hits for Oakwood on Monday (April 18) in a 13-1 softball loss at Hoopeston Area.
Enos struck out four batters in 4 1/3 innings and absorbed the loss.
On Wednesday (April 20), Georgetown-Ridge Farm scored twice in the top of the eighth inning to salvage a 9-7 win at Oakwood.
Alaina Rothwell’s double in the bottom of the seventh inning created a 7-7 deadlock that forced extra innings.
Rothwell socked two hits as did teammates Enos and Fegett. Oakwood recorded 10 hits in the Vermilion Valley Conference contest.
Karsen Rupp took the loss despite striking out nine batters in eight innings.
Oakwood (2-12) returns to action on Thursday (April 21) at home against Heritage.
