Oakwood picks up first shutout of the season

Karsen Rupp and Gracie Enos combined for Oakwood’s first softball shutout of the season on Thursday (April 21), a 10-0 win at home over Heritage.
Rupp allowed two hits and no walks in her three-inning stint. Enos worked the final two innings.
Samantha Dunavan’s first-inning single provided the Comets with the only run they would need. Dunavan, Bella Bradford and Savannah Nevitt all finished with two hits.
On Friday (April 22), the Comets secured a 4-3 walk-off triumph at home over Salt Fork when Alaina Rothwell slugged a two-out home run in the bottom of the seventh inning.
Dunavan, Nevitt and Rupp all ended with two hits. Rothwell had two RBI.
Oakwood (4-12) returns to action on Tuesday (April 26) at North Vermillion, Ind.
