Ava Vollmer was the discus runner-up on Friday (April 22) in the 36th Tuscola Open girls’ track and field meet.
Her best toss was 30 feet, 7 inches.
Teammate Carley Eades was seventh in the discus (86 feet, 6 inches) and 10th in the shot put (25 feet, 8 inches).
The Blue Devils received seventh-place finishes from Scarlet Howard (800 meters in 2:51.08) and Emma Buesing (1,600 meters in 6:17.77).
The VG 3,200-meter relay captured third place. The relay unit consisted of Howard, Madison Logan, Kyleigh Price and Buesing. Their collective time was 11:51.68.
The Blue Devils ended in a tie for 10th place with 14 points. Meet champion Tuscola amassed 103 points.
Villa Grove returns to action on Tuesday (April 26) at Arthur.
