Spartan baseball wins 13-consecutive games

Caleb Ochs pitched a four-hitter on Tuesday (April 26) as the St. Joseph-Ogden baseball team reached the 20-win mark with an 11-1 win at home over Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley.
Ochs (5-0) had no walks and struck out four batters. He did not allow an earned run.
Charles Voorhees led the Spartans’ offense. He was 3-for-3 with three doubles. Hayden Brazelton, Luke Landrus and Adam Price all belted two hits.
Price collected four RBI. Brazelton tallied three runs. Both Tyler Altenbaumer and Landrus crossed home plate twice.
On Wednesday (April 27), SJ-O tagged Westville with an 8-2 loss in Westville.
Brazelton and Griffin Roesch combined to stymie the Tigers. Brazelton (5-0) pitched five innings, walked one and struck out nine. Roesch worked the final two innings, walking no one and fanning two batters.
Brazelton and Altenbaumer each produced two hits, including one triple each. Altenbaumer delivered three RBI and scored three runs. Brazelton scored twice. Landrus also scored twice and stole two bases.
SJ-O (21-2) returns to action on Thursday (April 28) at Charleston. The Spartans have a 13-game winning streak.
