Villa Grove softball continues their win streak

Alex Brown provided a spark for Villa Grove in the pitcher’s circle and at-bat on Monday (April 25) as the Blue Devils scored in double figures in their sixth consecutive softball game, a 19-2 win at Cerro Gordo/Bement.
Brown was 3-for-3 and scored five runs. She was also dominant with her pitches, firing a three-hitter, walking no one and striking out four batters.
Logan Lillard and Chloe Reardon ended with two hits apiece. Lillard tallied three runs. Both Kaylee Arbuckle and Reardon scored twice. Arbuckle and Lillard delivered two RBI apiece.
On Wednesday (April 27), Maci Clodfelder clubbed two home runs to raise her team-leading total to nine as the Blue Devils recovered from a two-run deficit to defeat visiting Fisher 11-2.
Clodfelder drove in four runs.
Alison Pangburn knocked three hits and scored three runs.
Brown (10-6) pitched all seven innings. She walked one and allowed no earned runs. She struck out three batters.
Villa Grove (14-11) has won five games in a row and returns to action on Friday (April 29) at home against Okaw Valley.
