Powell, Hobick and Young combine to power Comets over Cissna Park

The first three hitters in the Oakwood baseball batting order went a combined 9-for-10 on Thursday (April 28) and scored nine runs as the Comets dispatched Cissna Park, 12-2, at home.

Leadoff hitter Grant Powell was 3-for-3 with four runs scored and three stolen bases. The next batter, Dalton Hobick, was 3-for-3 with four runs scored, two RBI and two stolen bases. The No.3 hitter, Josh Young, was 3-for-4 with two RBI.

Joshua Ruch racked two hits and Luke Wallace tallied three runs.

Travis Tiernan pitched four innings and registered the win. He recorded six strikeouts. Alec Harrison threw a hitless final inning.

Oakwood (12-9) returns to action on Monday (May 2) at Armstrong-Potomac.
