The Villa Grove softball team continued its late-season surge on Friday (April 29) shutting out Okaw Valley, 15-0, in a Lincoln Prairie Conference game. VG has won 10 of its last 13 games, including six in a row.
Logan Lillard was masterful in a four-hitter. She walked no one and struck out five.
Alison Pangburn and Emma Bratten-Noice delivered two hits apiece. Kaylee Arbuckle slugged a home run and drove in two runs.
Chloe Reardon had a three-RBI performance. Pangburn, Bratten-Noice, Arbuckle, Alex Brown and Kayln Cordes all tallied two runs.
Knocking in two runs, besides Arbuckle, were Brown, Cordes, Lillard and Addie Wilson.
Villa Grove (15-11) returns to action on Monday (May 2) at Argenta-Oreana. The Blue Devils are 7-1 in Lincoln Prairie Conference games and will try to lock up second place in the league with a win at A-O.
