Oakwood softball loses two

Samantha Dunavan registered three hits on Monday (May 9), but the Oakwood softball team dropped a 14-9 decision at Georgetown-Ridge Farm.
Contributing two hits apiece for the Comets were Bella Bradford, Savannah Nevitt and Karsen Rupp.
Gracie Enos, who struck out one in three innings, suffered the loss.
On Tuesday (May 10), Oakwood was outscored by Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin, 14-10, in a game it led, 8-7, in the fifth inning.
Nevitt hammered four hits and Rupp socked a seventh-inning home run. Rupp also struck out three batters in two innings.
On Wednesday (May 11), Westville shut out Oakwood, 11-0, in Fithian. Bradford’s double was the Comets’ lone hit.
Rupp pitched five innings and fanned four hitters.
Oakwood (7-16) returns to action in a Class 2A regional tournament game on Monday (May 16) when it plays at Marshall.
