SJO Softball wins another at Tuscola

Alyssa Acton pitched a complete game and Shayne Immke drove in eight runs on Monday (May 9) as the St. Joseph-Ogden softball team triumphed at Tuscola, 14-3.

Immke blasted a grand slam and led the Spartans with three hits. Kat Short and Jacey Lewis both knocked in two runs. Immke and Addison Frick each scored three runs. Crossing home plate twice each were Lewis, Sammy Uden and Thea Smith.

Immke also swatted a triple. Ten of her last 12 hits have landed for extra bases.

Acton has a team-best 8-1 record for the season. She walked two batters and struck out one.

On Tuesday (May 10), Immke picked up her third pitching victory and also knocked in three runs as the Spartans dispatched Danville, 10-3, at home.

She allowed two hits in four innings and struck out two. Kelsey Martlage and Acton finished up the three-hitter.

Immke and Jones each pounded two hits. Lewis and Addy Martinie drove in two runs. Lewis, Frick and Hallie Brazelton all scored two runs.

SJ-O (23-8-1) returns to action on Thursday (May 12) at Tolono Unity.
