Vollmer, 3,200 relay finish third at Lincoln Prairie Conference meet

Villa Grove’s Ava Vollmer placed third in the discus on Monday (May 9) in the girls’ Lincoln Prairie Conference meet at Cerro Gordo.
Vollmer’s top toss was measured at 87 feet, 6 inches.
The Blue Devils’ also had a relay entry that ran third.
The 3,200-meter relay featured Scarlet Howard, Madison Logan, Kyleigh Price and Emma Buesing. Their time was 12 minutes, 31.20 seconds.
Buesing copped a fourth-place finish in the 1,600 meters in 6:30.25 and Howard earned a fifth in the 800 meters (2:56.25).
Carley Eads ended sixth in the discus (80 feet, 6 inches) and two VG relays also finished sixth.
The 800-meter relay included Howard, Molly Little, Kayci Leith and Kenzie Cardiff. Their combined time was 2:09.87.
Howard, Little, Price and Buesing formed the 1,600-meter relay, which stopped the clock in 5:03.93.
The Blue Devils’ 400-meter relay wound up in seventh place. The runners were Samantha Hunt, Little, Leith and Cardiff. Their collective time was 1:01.63.
Villa Grove’s other individual top-10 finishers were Price (seventh in the 3,200 meters in 15:56.94), Eads (eighth in the shot put at 26 feet, 1 inch), Vollmer (ninth in the shot put at 25 feet, 6 inches), Cardiff (10th in the 200 meters in 31.63 seconds), Logan (10th in the 800 meters in 3:10.19) and Leith (10th in the long jump at 12 feet, 1 inch).
The Blue Devils were eighth in the 11-team meet with 19 points. Meet champion Okaw Valley accumulated 116 points.
Villa Grove will return to action on Friday (May 13) in the Salt Fork Class 1A Sectional at Catlin.
