Dunavan’s home run helps Comets win

Samantha Dunavan hammered a three-run home run in the fourth inning on Thursday (May 12), helping Oakwood to an 8-7 win in its regular-season softball finale.
Dunavan’s homer lifted the Comets into the lead for good.
Alaina Rothwell, Karsen Rupp and Audrey Schnaus all delivered two hits. Rothwell and Schnaus drove in runs to highlight a four-run third inning uprising.
Gracie Enos pitched all seven innings and registered five strikeouts.
Oakwood (7-19) returns to action in a Class 2A regional tournament game on Monday (May 16) at Marshall.
