Tate secures top 10 finishes at Salt Fork Sectional

Loran Tate secured top-10 finishes in three individual events for Heritage in the Friday (May 13) girls’ Class 1A Salt Fork Sectional track and field meet in Catlin.
Heritage did not have any state-qualifiers.
Tate was fifth in the triple jump (31 feet, 4 inches), sixth in the 200 meters (28.66 seconds) and seventh in the long jump (15 feet, 4 inches).
Kamryn Soard added a seventh-place finish in the triple jump (30 feet, 4 inches) and Adena Paul wound up ninth in the shot put (27 feet, 3 inches).
Two of the Hawks’ relays came in seventh.
The 800-meter relay consisted of Tate, Madi Wilson, Soard and Alex Tatman. They were timed in 2:02.35.
Runners on the 1,600-meter relay were Bailee Lubben, Wilson, Tatman and Lillian Montgomery. Their cumulative time was 5:44.10.
Heritage placed 16th in the team standings with two points.
