Eighth-grader Kiara Jones was the lone Heritage athlete to place among the top eight in the girls’ Class 1A junior high sectional track and field meet.
Jones placed third in the 800 meters in 2 minutes, 52.0 seconds in the sectional held at Champaign’s Field of Dreams on Saturday (May 7).
She did not qualify for state.
