Madalynne Nicoson was a double-placer for Oakwood in the Saturday (May 14) Class 3A girls’ sectional track and field meet at Shelbyville.

The eighth-grader took fifth place in the discus (63 feet, 10 inches) and eighth in the shot put (23 feet, 8 inches).

The school’s top performance by a seventh-grader was registered by 100-meter sprinter Alivia Phillips, who ended seventh in 14.63 seconds.

Oakwood did not have any state-qualifiers.
