Villa Grove softball to play in Regional final

Villa Grove opened the softball postseason on Tuesday (May 17) with a resounding 15-4 victory at home over Georgetown-Ridge Farm in a Class 1A semifinal game at home.
The Blue Devils pounded 20 hits, seven going for extra bases.
Logan Lillard led the way with four hits. Knocking three hits apiece were Alex Brown, Maci Clodfelder, Kayln Cordes and Alison Pangburn.
Addie Wilson contributed two hits. Clodfelder slammed two extra-base hits. Recording one apiece were Kaylee Arbuckle, Lillard, Pangburn, Chloe Reardon and Wilson.
Clodfelder and Reardon each delivered three RBI. Clodfelder and Pangburn scored three runs apiece.
Brown (12-7) pitched a six-inning complete game. She yielded one earned run, walked no one and struck out eight.
Villa Grove (19-13) returns to action on Friday (May 20) at home in the regional championship game against Meridian.
