Oakwood seventh-grader Carsen Dudley placed third in the high jump in the IESA boys’ state track and field meet at the East Side Centre, in East Peoria.
Dudley leaped a personal-best 5 feet, 6 inches – five inches higher than he cleared at sectionals – in the finals on Friday (May 20).
He was the lone Oakwood state-qualifier.
His performance provided the school with 6 points, allowing them to finish in a tie for 26th place at state.
