Shayne Immke chosen for the Illinois Coaches Association Class 2A softball all-state first team

St. Joseph-Ogden junior infielder Shayne Immke was one of 27 athletes chosen for the Illinois Coaches Association Class 2A softball all-state first team.
Immke batted .651 as a junior with an on-base average of .708.
As a sophomore – when she led the state in home runs with 17 – she was an ICA Class 2A second-team selection. This season, 27 of her 54 hits went for extra bases. She had a 52-game hitting streak snapped in the Spartans’ final game.
One SJ-O teammate earned accolades for her performance in 2022 for a 25-9-1 team. Sophomore infielder Addy Martinie was picked for the ICA Class 2A all-state third-team.
Martinie batted .467 and had an on-base average of .534. In 17 of her 35 games this spring Martinie had at least two hits.
Immke and Martinie were two of five SJ-O athletes who received mention on the Illini Prairie Conference’s all-league team.
Immke and sophomore outfielder Addison Frick (who batted .395) were first-team All-IPC selections.
Martinie and junior infielder Peyton Jones (who batted .496 and had a team-high 26 stolen bases) headlined the IPC second-team unit.
Chosen for honorable mention status was junior first baseman Alyssa Acton (who batted .390).
