Mustangs on a three-game win streak

Prairieview Ogden’s baseball team bounced back from losses in its first two games by compiling a three-game winning streak.

The Mustangs scored a 4-1 win on Tuesday (Aug. 16) at home against Hoopeston Area behind a two-hit pitching performance by Lane McKinney.

He struck out eight and walked no one in his complete-game, seven-inning outing.

McKinney had two hits as did Dalton York.

On Monday (Aug. 15), PVO recorded a 19-1 win over Heritage at Homer.

McKinney, York and Jameson Ehler all poked two hits. Royce Loschen scored four runs. Touching home plate three times each were York, Garrett Loschen and Wedig.

Garrett Loschen earned the win. He worked 2 1/3 innings and fanned four batters. Royce Loschen pitched the last 1 2/3 innings. He yielded no hits and struck out two batters.

On Saturday (Aug. 13), the Mustangs registered a 7-0 win at home over Salt Fork.

Wedig was on the mound for the first 4 1/3 innings. He permitted one hit and struck out seven. York went 2 1/3 innings and collected four strikeouts. McKinney got the final out via a strikeout.

York tallied three runs and landed three hits. Ehler knocked in three runs. Casen Goff contributed two hits.

On Thursday (Aug. 11), PVO dropped a 3-0 decision at Champaign Edison.

Ehler allowed six hits in six innings and suffered the loss.

McKinney had two of the Mustangs’ three hits. Royce Loschen had the team’s other hit.

PVO (3-2) returns to action on Wednesday (Aug. 17) at Rantoul Eater.
