Gadbury and Getty win at Maroa-Forsyth

Senior Jessica Gadbury and sophomore Olivia Getty teamed up for a hard-fought win in No. 3 doubles on Thursday (Aug. 18) as St. Joseph-Ogden opened its girls’ tennis season with an 8-1 loss against Maroa-Forsyth at the UI Atkins Tennis Center.
Gadbury and Getty prevailed 6-4, 7-5 against Isabella Griffiths and Aubra Timmons.
Other doubles entries for the Spartans were Katie McDermott and Izzy Sexton (No. 1) as well as Carolina Aiden and Samantha Kelso (No. 2).
In singles, SJ-O’s lineup consisted of Abbey Dow (No. 1), Addison Seggebruch (No. 2), Lilly Rice (No. 3), Ella Dieteker (No. 4), McKennah Hamilton (No. 5) and Lauren Lannert (No. 6).
SJ-O (0-1) returns to action on Tuesday (Aug. 23) at Urbana at Blair Park.
