Macen Phillips scored two goals on Tuesday (Aug. 23) as the Oakwood/Salt Fork soccer team posted an 8-0 win at Danville Schlarman.
All of the scoring took place in the first half.
Grant Powell had a goal and two assists for the Comets.
Also finding the back of the net were Ty Smoot, Brody Taflinger, Saul Carrillo and Jacob Pricer.
Generating assists were Reef Pacot, Smoot, Taflinger and Carrillo.
Goalkeeper Joshua Ruch had one save.
Oakwood/SF controlled the field of play, attempting 38 total shots to the Hilltoppers’ two.
On Monday (Aug. 22), the Comets battled to a 1-1 draw at St. Joseph-Ogden.
Powell scored the equalizing goal in the second half, on an assist from Pacot. Ruch collected three saves.
Oakwood/Salt Fork (1-0-1) returns to action on Thursday (Aug. 25) in its home-opener against Watseka.
