SJO soccer begins season strong

Freshman Ryker Lockhart scored a goal in his first varsity match on Monday (Aug. 22), but St. Joseph-Ogden ended a hard-fought battle at home against Oakwood/Salt Fork in a 1-1 deadlock.
Junior Spencer Wilson assisted on Lockhart’s goal. Senior goalkeeper Hunter Ketchum ended with 11 saves.
On Tuesday (Aug. 23), the Spartans posted a 3-0 victory at Argenta-Oreana.
Senior Jackson Greer notched two goals and Lockhart scored once. Senior Aiden Cromwell had two assists while sophomore Logan Mills tallied one assist.
Ketchum totaled nine saves in his first shutout of the season.
SJ-O (1-0-1) returns to action on Thursday (Aug. 25) at Urbana University High.
