Roland, Paul earn recognition at several Invitationals

Heritage eighth-grader Clark Roland captured individual honors in two junior high cross-country meets in a three-day period, each outing with a season-best performance.
On Thursday (Aug. 25), he was timed in 11 minutes and 35 seconds in the 2-mile Paxton-Buckley-Loda Invitational.
On Saturday (Aug. 27), Roland recorded a time of 11:20 and was the individual winner in the Doc Acklin Invitational at Paris.
Heritage had one other runner among the boys’ leaders.
Seventh-grader Christian Paul was fourth at PBL (13:09) and third at Paris (season-best 12:25).
The three runners on the Heritage girls’ team continue to show improvement.
At PBL, Lead DelRossi was timed in 18:36, with Gwen Keely at 18:52 and Rylen Stierwalt at 20:44.
At Paris, DelRossi ran a season-best 16:36, with Keely coming in at 17:38 and Stierwalt at 19:30.
Heritage returns to action on Friday (Sept. 2) at the Chrisman Cowchip Classic.
