Ruwe finishes third at Doc Acklin Invitational

Junior Zach Ruwe placed third in a 47-runner field on Saturday (Aug. 27) in the Doc Acklin Invitational, at Paris.
His 3-mile time was 17 minutes and 41 seconds.
Four full teams fielded teams. Effingham (37 points) was the meet champion. Heritage placed third (74 points).
Other Heritage finishers were senior Rowan Denmark-Collins (13th in 19:08), junior Aidan Ashbrook (23rd in 20:25); sophomore Hunter Montgomery (27th in 20:53); junior Cohen Sands (29th in 21:11); sophomore Robert Holloman (31st in 21:21) and freshman Eli Denmark-Collins (32nd in 21:35).
The lone Heritage entry in the girls’ race was junior Lillian Montgomery. She finished 28th in a 54-runner field with a 3-mile time of 24:54.
Marshall (33 points) was the girls’ team champion.
Heritage returns to action on Saturday (Sept. 10) in the Paxton-Buckley-Loda Invitational.
