Roland and Paul finish in Top 10 at Cowchip Classic

Heritage’s Clark Roland and Christian Paul each garnered their fifth top-10 finish of the cross-country season on Friday (Sept. 2) in the Chrisman Cowchip Classic.
In the race for eighth-graders, Roland was second out of 79 runners in the 2-mile race in 11 minute, 21.8 seconds. It was his fifth top-two performance of the season.
In the race for seventh-grade boys, Paul placed ninth in 12:34.2. There were 80 runners in his race.
Two of the three Heritage girls who participated achieved their season’s best time.
In the race for seventh-graders, Leah DelRossi was 36th (16:35.7), her third time this season under 17 minutes and her best yet. There were 78 runners in her race.
In the race for sixth-graders, Rylen Stierwalt knocked more than a minute and a half off her previous best, entering the finish chute in 17:51.3. She placed 53rd in a field of 77 participants.
In the race for fifth-graders, Gwen Keely was 12th out of 41 runners in 18:00.3.
The Hawks return to action on Thursday (Sept. 8) at Danville Schlarman.
