Kopacz leads Oakwood golf at Danville Invite

Case Kopacz recorded an 81 on Friday (Sept. 2) for Oakwood, which placed 17th in the Danville Invitational at Turtle Run Golf Course.
Oakwood had a team composite of 420.
The Comets’ other scorers were Nate Stewart (104), Mason Goodner (110) and Kyle McFarland (125).
On Tuesday (Sept. 6), Stewart’s 51 led the Comets in a four-school meet at Harrison Park.
Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin won the meet with a score of 187 and was followed by Sat Fork (209), Oakwood (222) and Westville (227).
Other scores for the Comets were Goodner (55), McFarland (57), Gage Warren (59), Riley Whaling (65) and Lily Harden (71).
On Wednesday (Sept. 7), Stewart fired a season-low 47 to share medalist honors with Danville’s Collin Lomax in a three-team meet at Harrison Park.
Goodner posted a 51 and McFarland came in at 52. Whaling had a 59, Warren a 63 and Harden a 76.
Oakwood’s team tally was 209. Danville was second (215) and was followed by Westville (239).
Oakwood (8-8) returns to action on Thursday (Sept. 8) at home against Champaign Judah Christian.
