Reef Pacot’s hat trick on Wednesday (Sept. 7) highlighted a soccer victory for Oakwood/Salt Fork at home over Georgetown-Ridge Farm/Westville.
The Comets prevailed, 8-0, scoring five of the goals in the opening half.
Grant Powell collected one goal and three assists for Oakwood/Salt Fork.
Other goals were tallied by Brody Taflinger, Ty Smoot, Jacob Pricer and Thomas Wells.
Also contributing assists were Macen Phillips with two and Saul Carrillo with one.
Goalkeeper Joshua Ruch ended with one save.
The Comets held a 26-3 edge in total shots.
Oakwood/Salt Fork (6-1-1) returns to action on Thursday (Sept. 8) at Rantoul. In five Vermilion Valley Conference matches, the Comets are not only undefeated, but also unscored upon.
