Wells and Carrillo finish in top four at Kickapoo

Two of the top four runners on Tuesday (Sept. 6) in a four-school boys’ cross-country meet at Kickapoo State Park were from Oakwood/Salt Fork.
Thomas Wells ran third in 20 minutes and 12 seconds. Just behind him was Saul Carrillo (fourth in 20:19).
Other participants for the Comets were Bryson Capansky (12th in 22:26), Brayden Edwards (15th in 24:05) and Ben Darling (16th in 24:06).
In the girls’ portion of a four-school meet that also included St. Joseph-Ogden, Armstrong-Potomac and Hoopeston Area, the individual winner was Macie Russell from Oakwood/Salt Fork.
Her 3-mile time was 21 minutes and 13 seconds.
Kalie Tison was fourth (26:51) and Comet teammate Addie Wright was eighth (29:32).
Oakwood/Salt Fork returns to action on Saturday (Sept. 10) in the Paxton-Buckley-Loda Invitational.
