Fisher leads Spartans in Peoria

Jack Fisher was the leading runner for St. Joseph-Ogden on Saturday (Sept. 10) in the Class 3A division of the First to Finish boys’ cross-country race at Detweiller Park, in Peoria.
Fisher ran the 3-mile course in 16 minutes, 54.3 seconds and wound up in 141st place.
SJ-O placed 32nd in the 37-school field with 890 points. Meet champion Plainfield South had 48 points.
Other Spartans in the varsity race were Aden Armstrong (181st in 17:18.0), Lance Retz (182nd in 17:18.6), Joe Griebat (246th in 18:12.5), Mason Guido (256th in 18:29.1) and Holden Jones (257th in 18:30.6).
In the junior varsity race, SJ-O’s Logan Xiao was 16th in a field of 888 participants. His time was 16:35.5.
Other Spartans in the JV race were Cyrus Zadeh (504th in 21:18.8) and E.J. Beckett (641st in 22:39.9).
SJ-O returns to action on Tuesday (Sept. 13) in a meet at Monticello.
