Hawks finish third at PBL Invitational

Heritage ran a strong third on Saturday (Sept. 10) in the seven-school Paxton-Buckley-Loda boys’ cross-country invitational.
First-place Herscher had a team score of 50 points. Third-place Heritage totaled 68 points.
Leading the Hawks was Zach Ruwe. He was third overall (but the first junior to finish), covering the 3-mile course in 16 minutes and 54 seconds.
Teammates trailing him were: Rowan Denmark-Collins (14th in 18:11), Hunter Montgomery (18th in 18:37), Aidan Ashbrook (20th in 18:39), Cohen Sands (39th in 20:11), Robert Holloman (42nd in 20:17) and Eli Denmark-Collins (50th in 21:19).
There were 81 runners in the race.
In the 56-runner girls’ race, the lone Heritage competitor was Lillian Montgomery. She ran the 3-mile course in 21:56 and ended in 18th place.
Heritage returns to action on Tuesday (Sept. 13) in a meet at Urbana Uni High.
