Senior Jacob Kern took medalist honors on Thursday (Sept. 8) for St. Joseph-Ogden, but the Spartans finished second in a three-school golf meet at Indian Springs, in Saybrook.

Kern fired a 41, one shot better than teammate Ashten Cafarelli, who tied for second.

Other scores for SJ-O were Maddux Carter (43), Jack Robertson (53) and Tyler Buss (56).

Tri-Valley won the meet with a 175 composite score. SJ-O was second (179), followed by Fisher (210).

The Spartans (9-3) return to action on Monday (Sept. 12) in the Champaign County Meet at Lincolnshire Fields Country Club, in Champaign.
