St. Joseph-Ogden’s four entries in the varsity division of the Richard Spring boys’ cross-country invitational on Saturday (Sept. 17) entered the finish chute within 29 seconds of one another.
The Spartans did not have enough runners to be scored as a team.
The SJ-O pacesetters in the 3-mile race were Aden Armstrong (228th in 17 minutes, 7.1 seconds), Holden Jones (261st in 17:23.7), Ethan Blackburn (265th in 17:26.0) and Isiah Mock (290th in 17:36.0).
There were 474 finishers.
In the race for freshmen-sophomore runners, SJ-O captured 23rd in the 52-school field with 682 points. Meet champion Elmhurst York had 128 points.
Jack Fisher was the Spartans’ leader, ending in 24th place in a 365-runner field with a 3-mile time of 16:45.2.
Other SJ-O participants were Lance Retz (59th in 17:33.1), Mason Guido (101st in 17:59.9), Joe Griebat (200th in 19:14.4), E.J. Beckett (326th in 21:51.8), Logan Xiao (344th in 23:04.1) and Fabian Lopez (362nd in 25:49.8).
