Heritage Cross Country finishes fifth at Wimple Park

The Heritage Hawks finished fifth on Saturday (Sept 17) in the 17-school Tuscola boys’ cross-country invitational at Wimple Park.
Meet champion Tuscola totaled 102 points in the 45th annual race. Heritage had a composite score of 160.
Leading the way for the Hawks was Zach Ruwe, whose 3-mile time was 17 minutes, 31.55 seconds. Ruwe ended 13th in a 178-runner race.
He was followed by Rowan Denmark-Collins (16th in 17:45.2), Aidan Ashbrook (30th in 18:27.77), Hunter Montgomery (36th in 18:52.80), Cohen Sands (81st in 20:09.34), Eli Denmark-Collins (82nd in 20:10.27), Robert Holloman (112th in 21:33.54) and Joshua Stierwalt (141st in 23:36.83).
In the girls’ race, Lillian Montgomery was the lone Heritage participant.
She took 28th place in a field of 135 finishers. Her 3-mile time was 21:53.39.
Heritage returns to action on Wednesday (Sept. 21) with a home meet against Chrisman.
