Case Kopacz fired an 83 and placed third on Thursday (Sept. 22) in the 10-school Vermilion Valley Conference boys’ golf tournament at Harrison Park, in Danville.
Kopacz’s performance reserved him a spot on the VVC all-conference team.
Oakwood’s Kyle McFarland carded a 92 and missed by three strokes of earning all-league accolades.
Other scores for the Comets were Mason Goodner (116), Gage Warren (120) and Riley Whaling (123).
In the team chase, Watseka (353) was the VVC champion, followed by Iroquois West (358). Oakwood (411) finished in sixth place.
A total of 58 boys competed in the 18-hole event.
Oakwood returns to action on Monday (Sept. 26) at Hoopeston in a meet that also includes Milford.
