Quinn Sperry distributed 11 assists and Luci Morris pounded nine kills on Thursday (Sept. 22), but Oakwood dropped a 25-21, 25-20 Vermilion Valley Conference volleyball decision at Chrisman.
In a Tuesday (Sept. 20) loss at home to Hoopeston Area, 25-19, 25-12, Sophia Hart recorded six digs and teammate Nikita Taylor had three service aces and two kills.
On Saturday (Sept. 24), the Comets went 1-3 in the Hutsonville Tournament.
After losses to North Central (27-25, 25-16), Lawrenceville (25-15, 22-25, 15-13) and Hutsonville (25-20, 25-12), the Comets topped Red Hill (25-21, 25-7).
Morris and Taylor each dropped 17 kills for the day and Sperry doled out 29 assists. Morris also contributed eight blocks.
The Comets (3-13) return to action on Monday (Sept. 26) at home against Paxton-Buckley-Loda.
