Panther boys’ cross country finishes sixth at Champaign County meet

The St. Joseph Panthers finished sixth on Tuesday (Sept. 27) in the 13-school Champaign County junior high cross-country meet at Tolono Unity.

Mahomet-Seymour captured team honors with a composite of 30 points. Champaign St. Matthew (105 points) was second. St. Joseph’s score was 136 points.

Leading the Panthers were Colin Burnett (12^th in 12 minutes, 3.5 seconds) and Patrick Clark (16^th in 12:07.7).

Rounding out the team’s top seven were Sam Zadeh (38^th in 12:57.9), Zach Benoit (39^th in 12:59.5), Eli Franklin (41^st in 13:02.9), Adam Bello (44^th in 13:07.5) and Camden Fisher (48th 13:14.5).

There were 90 participants in the boys’ varsity race.

In the boys’ open race, St. Joseph was also sixth with 154 points. The top two teams were M-S (15) and Urbana (70).

The Panthers’ top runners were Brady Johnson (25^th in 14:15.5), Kelton Pruemer (27^th in 14:19.4), Nathan Hinkel (32^nd in 14:38.8), Holden Hausle (34^th in 14:46.8), Henry McCamon (36^th in 14:50.2), Kru McDonald (39^th in 15:01.0) and Luke Dunn (41^st in 15:04.1).

There were 156 runners in the boys’ open race.
