Rice picks up win for SJ-O tennis

Lily Rice earned a win at No. 6 singles for St. Joseph-Ogden on Tuesday (Sept. 27) in a 7-2 girls’ tennis loss at Watseka.
Rice decisioned Annika Greene, 8-7 (6).
In doubles, the No. 3 duo of Hallie Harms and Emma Thurman topped Greene and Marisa Clark, 8-4.
On Wednesday (Sept. 28), the Spartans dropped a 5-3 decision at Decatur St. Teresa.
Lauren Lannert (No. 5) and Caroline Aden (No. 6) were the Spartans’ singles’ winners.
Lannert swept Katherine Combs, 6-4, 6-3, and Aden handled Alexis Rayhill, 6-3, 6-4.
The other SJ-O victor was the No. 3 doubles duo of Thurman and Harms, who prevailed over Alexis Rayhill and Zia Boulier, 8-5.
SJ-O (0-10) returns to action on Wednesday (Oct. 5) at Danville Schlarman.
