Spartan soccer goes 4-1 over five days

St. Joseph-Ogden’s soccer team completed a week where it played a match a day for five consecutive days with a 6-4 victory at home on Friday (Sept. 30) against St. Anne.
The Spartans were 4-1 for the week.
Alex Accosta netted a hat trick and also contributed an assist against St. Anne. Logan Mills registered two goals and two assists. Collin Thomey had one goal and one assist.
Carter Mabry collected four saves and Jackson Greer ended with one save.
Greer and Zach Harper each netted two goals on Thursday (Sept. 29) as St. Joseph-Ogden earned a 5-0 soccer victory at Rantoul.
Greer also contributed an assist.
The other goal-scorer for the Spartans was Accosta. Also assisting on scores were Will Childers, Mills and Will Page.
Three goalkeepers combined for the sixth SJ-O shutout of the season. Hunter Ketchum, Mabry and Greer each collected one save.
SJ-O (13-4-1) returns to action on Monday (Oct. 3) at home against Watseka.
