Heritage volleyball defeats Blue Ridge, eliminated in tournament by AL/AH

Lilli Montgomery had 24 digs and Mary Roland distributed 23 assists on Monday as fifth-seeded Heritage handled a 19-win Blue Ridge, 25-17, 20-25, 25-13, in the quarterfinals of the Lincoln Prairie Conference volleyball tournament in Arcola.
Blue Ridge was the No. 4 seed.
Bryn Wyant produced a double-double with 13 kills and 12 digs.
Destanee Morgan totaled 14 digs, Adena Paul contributed eight kills along with three service aces and one block. Gracie Tate finished with 12 digs and two kills while Riley Miller also swatted two kills. Roland added four aces and three digs.
On Tuesday (Oct. 4), Heritage suffered a semifinal loss to top-seeded Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond, 25-17, 25-13.
Montgomery (16 digs) and Roland (10 assists) were among the team leaders. Roland also ended with four digs and two service aces.
Morgan and Tate had matching totals of seven digs and two kills.
Wyant finished with six digs and four kills. Paul added two kills and one dig and Miller registered one kill.
Heritage (12-12-1) will play third-seeded Decatur Lutheran on Thursday (Oct. 6) in the third-place match at Arcola.
