S-JO soccer defeats Fisher in Regional play

St. Joseph-Ogden made a first-half goal by Logan Mills (assisted by Ryker Lockhart) stand up on Wednesday (Oct. 12) in a semifinal match of an IHSA Class 1A regional at Fisher and held on to upset the Bunnies, 1-0.
The win was the eighth in a row for the Spartans and the fourth by shutout in that span. Overall, SJ-O has nine shutouts this season.
SJ-O was the No. 6 seed for the regional. Fisher/GCMS was the No. 3 seed.
Goalkeeper Hunter Ketchum registered 11 saves.
SJ-O (18-4-1) returns to action on Friday (Oct. 14) at 4 p.m. in the regional championship match against top-seeded St. Thomas More (14-4-1).
SJ-O is one win away from tying the school record for single-season wins, set by the 19-4-1 team in 2012.
