Spartans finish as runners-up at Turkey Tournament

The next sports round-up will be on Nov. 28.

Junior Addy Martinie scored 11 points on Thursday (Nov. 17), but the St. Joseph-Ogden girls’ basketball team fell just short against Mahomet-Seymour in the final game of the Toyota of Danville Turkey Tournament in the Spartans’ gym.

SJ-O held an 18-16 halftime lead against M-S, which won the tournament championship with a 3-0 record.

Taylor Hug bagged three three-pointers and hit nine points for the Spartans. Addie Seggebruch contributed seven points.

All-tournament pick Addison Frick was held to a pair of free throws by the Bulldogs.

SJ-O (1-2) returns to action on Tuesday (Nov. 22) at Paris.
