Panthers improve to 12-0

The St. Joseph Junior High eighth-grade boys’ basketball team has hit its season’s high for points scored in its last two games while improving its record to 12-0.
On Saturday (Dec. 3), the Panthers upended Hoopeston Area at home, 54-20. Cam Wagner hit 24 points and Nolan Franzen contributed 12 points.
On Thursday (Dec. 1), also at home, St. Joseph handed Danville North Ridge a 52-38 setback. Wagner’s 28 points were a season’s high. Franzen tossed in 16 points.
On Tuesday (Nov. 29), St. Joseph topped visiting Champaign Franklin, 40-25. Wagner netted 17 points and Tripp Palmer added eight points.
On Monday (Nov. 28), the Panthers pounded Bismarck-Henning, 40-21. Franzen and Brayden Waller each totaled eight points.
On Monday (Nov. 21), St. Joseph had its closest game through 12 outings, a 39-36 triumph at Rantoul. Wagner notched 21 points and Palmer scored five points.
On Thursday (Nov. 17), the Panthers dealt Schlarman Academy a 46-18 loss in St. Joseph. Wagner powered in 18 points and Tyler Hess chipped in with seven.
On Monday (Nov. 14), the eighth-graders beat Westville, 49-35. Wagner recorded 17 points and Franzen ended with 16 points.
St. Joseph (12-0) returns to action on Thursday (Dec. 8) at Champaign Edison.
