Watseka comes out on top against Oakwood
By Fred Kroner
A 20-2 first-quarter deficit was too much for Oakwood to overcome on Monday (Dec. 12) and the Comets dropped a 42-25 girls’ basketball decision at home to Watseka.
Oakwood held an edge in total points, 23-22, over the final three quarters.
Addie Wright led the Comets with eight points. Jaydah Arrowsmith added seven points and Nikita Taylor contributed six points. Netting two points apiece were Bella Bradford and Kalie Tison.
Oakwood (5-5) returns to action on Thursday (Dec. 15) at home against Hoopeston Area.
