Hobick’s 20 helps Comets defeat Armstron-Potomac

Senior Dalton Hobick became the first Oakwood boys’ basketball player to score 20-points in a game this season when he hit that mark on Friday (Dec. 16) in the Comets’ 68-37 triumph at Armstrong-Potomac.
The loss snapped a three-game losing streak for the Comets.
The teams were tied, 12-12, after one quarter. Oakwood’s halftime lead was 29-22, but the Comets pulled away with a 39-15 second-half run.
Alec Harrison netted 13 points and Tanner Pichon chipped in with 11 points for the Comets. Brody Taflinger finished with eight points.
Oakwood (9-3) returns to action on Monday (Dec. 26) in the Monticello Hoopla Tournament. The Comets will face Monticello in an 11:30 a.m. game and Clinton in a 6 p.m. contest.
