Martinie and Seggebruch lead Spartans in game against Normal

St. Joseph-Ogden’s girls’ basketball team came up just short on Thursday (Dec. 29) in the 15th-place game of the girls’ small-school division at Normal Community High School.
The 12th-seeded Spartans were bested by 15th-seeded Riverdale, 36-35. SJ-O held a 25-19 halftime lead, but were limited to two third-quarter points. Riverdale sank 10 of 13 free throw attempts.
Addy Martinie and Addie Seggebruch each scored 10 points for SJ-O. Kaytlyn Baker nailed three three-point shots and finished with nine points. Addison Frick scored six points.
The Spartans (6-11) return to action on Thursday Jan. 5 at home against Pontiac.
