Williamsville hands SJ-O boys’ basketball their first loss

Three Spartans scored in double figures on Tuesday (Jan. 3), but a 24-10 disparity on free throw attempts led to St. Joseph-Ogden suffering its first loss of the boys’ basketball season, 52-48, at Williamsville.
The home team made 13 free throws and the Spartans connected on five in 10 attempts.
The top SJ-O scorers were Ty Pence (15 points), Coy Taylor (13 points) and Tanner Jacob (11 points).
Pence produced his fourth double-double of the season and second in a row with an 11-rebound performance. Logan Smith cleared six rebounds and Taylor handled four rebounds.
Jacob and Smith each handed out three assists.
SJ-O (11-1) returns to action on Thursday (Jan. 5) against Linton-Stockton at Parke Heritage High School (address is 506 N Beadle St., Rockville, Ind.). The JV game starts at 5:30 p.m. (ET).
