Oakwood made 17 of 19 free throw attempts on Tuesday (Jan. 10) at Milford, but still fell short in a Vermilion Valley Conference boys’ basketball game, 73-55.
Dalton Hobick led the Comets with 16 points. Tanner Pichon had 15 points and Brody Taflinger added 11 points. That trio was 13-for-13 from the free-throw line.
Josh Ruch contributed six points and Alec Harrison tallied four points.
Third-seeded Oakwood (13-6) returns to action in the Vermilion County Tournament with a first-round game on Saturday (Jan. 14) at Danville Area Community College against fifth-seeded Westville at 5:15 p.m.
