Pence breaks three-point conversion record in win over Teutopolis

Senior Ty Pence became the all-time leader for three-point conversions at St. Joseph-Ogden on Tuesday (Jan. 10) in a home boys’ basketball game against Teutopolis.
Pence netted one three-pointer en route to a team-high 26-point performance in SJ-O’s 53-40 triumph over the Wooden Shoes.
For his four-year career, Pence has nailed 193 three-pointers. The previous record of 192 was held by 2014 graduate Nate Michael.
Pence also had six steals and four rebounds against T-Town. He drilled 11 of 12 free throw attempts and has gone to the line 49 times in his last five games.
Logan Smith, who was 7-for-7 from the charity stripe, added 17 points, five rebounds and two assists. Coy Taylor scored six points and cleared five rebounds.
Tanner Jacob hauled down six rebounds and McGwire Atwood finished with five rebounds.
SJ-O (13-2) returns to action on Friday (Jan. 13) at Pontiac.
