Hawks fall short against Villa Grove

Seventh-seeded Villa Grove needed overtime on Tuesday (Jan. 24) to turn back Heritage, 65-55, in a consolation bracket game in the Lincoln Prairie Conference boys’ basketball tournament at Argenta.
Timmy Wilson led the Hawks with 15 points. Julliyan Gray registered 13 points and Drew Williams chipped in with 12 points. Rylan White hit eight points.
Heritage held a 29-20 halftime cushion, but trailed, 38-35, entering the final period.
Both squads nailed eight three-point shots. Three of Wilson’s field goals were from beyond the arc.
Heritage (6-16) returns to action on Saturday (Jan. 28) at Argenta against 10th-seeded Blue Ridge at 1 p.m. Heritage is the No. 9 seed.
